Minecraft 1.6.6 Patch Notes

Here are the notes for the latest patch on Minecraft: 1.6.6


1.6.6 -

+ Added a new use for bonemeal
* Changed the material of glowstone from “glass” to “stone”. This means you need a pickaxe to get resources from it
* Made glowstone drop more loot
* Made the recipe sizes for creating cloth blocks and glowstone blocks smaller (2x2 instead of 3x3)
* Re-introduced unlimited FPS, renamed the option again
* Fixed beds not working very well at all in SMP
* Fixed destroying a boat spawning the player too low, causing them to sometimes fall through the ground
* Boats float up to the surface quicker
* Boats falling down into water lose their vertical momentum very fast

1.6 -

New features:
+ Added Nether support to multiplayer
+ The client will ask minecraft.net if the current login is valid. If the server says “no”, a warning message appears in the client. You can still play the game even if this happens.
+ Added craftable maps
+ Added hatches
+ Added tall grass in some biomes
+ Mushrooms now spreads (very) slowly
+ Added server property view-distance. Sets the radius of terrain updates (in chunks) to send to the players. Range 3-15, default 10.
+ Added dead shrubs in deserts
+ Added allow-nether (set to true or false) in server.properties
+ Blocks destroyed by other players in multiplayer now shows the breaking block particle effect
+ Doors make sound for other players in multiplayer
+ The record player now supports more than 15 different songs (you can’t get the records yet, though)
+ Activated dispensers make sounds and trigger particles in multiplayer
+ Players stuck in walls will slide towards the nearest gap if there is one

Changes:
* Disabled Advanced OpenGL until we can fix some bugs with it
* It’s no longer possible to build solid blocks on the top layer of the maps (sorry!)
* Made booster tracks speedier
* Severely nerfed fire so it spread slower, and doesn’t spread infinitely
* Seeds are now found in tall grass, using a hoe on the ground no longer works
* Compressed network traffic more agressively
* Blocks that don’t change appearance when the data changes don’t send block updates when their data changes now
* Arrows shot by players can now be picked up by all players
* Nothing riding anything or being ridden by anything can enter portals

Three amazing creations.

Hey heres a few awesome Minecraft creations i found and was sent - 


The Taj Mahal
This creations is quite well known on the web but i included it because it is just incredible everything is up to scale and the only downer is that is was made in the free version but apart from that it is amazing!

The Statue of liberty Minecraft style
This creations is also quite spectacular as not only does the actual statue look amazing but they have made a Minecraft style version!

Atlas
This creations is my favorite of the three as it is just so original and the shape of atlas is pure perfection also this was made on the paid version of Minecraft so it would be even harder than the other two.

A cool mod i found

This is just a cool mod i found hope you enjoy it, This mod allows you to use commands in single player to change the time of day and spawn the items you want!
When i found this mod i was very happy because i wanted a way to spawn items in your inventory without using invedit, here is the link and a few pictures:

What is Minecraft?

If you haven't noticed its fame on the internet lately Minecraft is a sandbox, indie game that exploded into the gaming community in late 2010! it was created by a single man from Sweden named  Markus Alexej Pearson also known as Notch, He now works with his company Mojang AB.

Minecraft is a very simple yet satisfying game and can keep us entertained for hours, the main essence of the game is to collect resources (by hitting them) and use them to craft things such as tools and armor, on the first night it is advised to construct a shelter as there is always a catch, at night and in caves several types of monsters come out to try and kill you such as zombies, skeletons, spiders and more...

There are 2 game modes (for now) single player and multi player. in single player a random world is generated and you decide the aim of the game, you might search for resources and make weapons and armor and mine to the center of the earth or you could save them build a giant castle it can be 2 kinds of game adventure or construction, in multi player it is the same concept but your friends can join you and you can use commands to give people items, teleport each other and change the time of day.

Minecraft overall is a massive game with endless things to do and its still in beta so theres still more to come! there a rumored game modes such as adventure and capture the flag, Notch has also confirmed he is working on a new mob: wolves! and also achievements and stats.
